The Most Offensive Family-Friendly Podcast braves another discussion about race, immigration and other hot-button topics in Episode 226 of Movie Podcast Weekly. We know, we know… but we got word that some people found some of the remarks made during Episode 223 offensive, so we wanted to address it as our resident night manager of 7-Eleven oversaw the proceedings. We hope all will listen (especially those who found Ep. 223 offensive).

We also bring you the regular business of Feature Reviews. This week we review Lion (2017) and Rings (2017). Additionally, you’ll hear our thoughts on the biggest football game of the year and we define the meaning of the phrase “Revenge Netflix.” Join us, unless you’re … chicken. Continue reading

Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 225: Gold (2017) and The Founder (2017)

Episode 225 - Gold and The Founder

For the first time in 220 episodes, we bring you a two-hander that’s just Jason and Karl … and really, judging by Karl’s attentiveness, you might suspect that sometimes it’s just Jason. Nevertheless, we warmly welcome you to Movie Podcast Weekly, Episode 225. In this show, you’ll get two Feature Reviews of Gold and The Founder. Yeah, this episode is more laid back, but Jay reveals more info about the forthcoming Movie Podcast Network changes!

If you’re new to our show… Movie Podcast Weekly typically features four hosts — Jason, Andy, Karl and Geek Cast Ry — along with frequent guests. We give you our verdicts on at least one new movie release from the current year that’s currently playing in theaters, as well as several mini reviews of whatever we’ve been watching lately. New episodes release every single week! Continue reading

Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 221: The Best Damn 2017 Movie Preview on the Internet

Episode 221

Happy 2017! We’re usually pretty humble on Movie Podcast Weekly, but this nearly four-hour episode has to be The Best Damn 2017 Movie Preview on the Internet. That’s right! In Episode 221, Jason and Ryan begin with the first Friday in January and discuss just about every known release, week by week, for 2017. We started recording this episode on January 2, 2017, and it ran over into January 3. We can’t get too arrogant, though, because this episode also represents a first-time failure on MPW… It is the first time in 221 episodes that we fail to bring you at least one Feature Review (review of a new movie that’s playing in theaters).

But not to worry: We waste your time (and ours) with other dumb stuff, such as movie news and mini reviews. Ryan also confesses that he finally saw “The Walk” (2015), and he reveals his verdict here. Oh, and Ryan and Jason also debate the comparative merits of the Hulk wearing armor, versus no armor … as well as the merits of squirrels wearing armor, versus no armor. It’s nuts! Join us!
