Merry Christmas! It’s the December 2020 monthly edition of Movie Podcast Weekly. This episode was recorded on December 7, 2020. Unfortunately, William Rowan Jr. could not make this recording. Also, your movie buddies discuss Warner Brothers’ big move to stream their 2021 movie releases on HBO Max. Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 333: Halloween Special 2019 Hosted by Jay of the Dead

Episode 333

Happy Halloween from Movie Podcast Weekly! Welcome to Episode 333, in which former MPW host emeritus, Jason Pyles (aka “Jay of the Dead”) from Considering the Cinema and Horror Movie Weekly, returns to guest host our Halloween Special for 2019! So, Jay, William, Ryan and a guy named Andy (basically, everyone except Karl) also bring you Feature Reviews of Joker (2019) and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019). Then, as a BONUS and to atone for failing to release “Lost episodes” for September and October, Jay is including exclusive, never-before-released postscript podcast material of the MPW crew discussing David Lynch and his films, Eraserhead (1977) and The Elephant Man (1980).

But wait! There’s more! Also in this episode, MPW features some excellent real-life examples of Life Imitating Art and Art Imitating Life. Also, Jay of the Dead bestows an official Horror nickname on Ryan. Not everybody earns a Horror moniker (Andy). Ryan laments the longstanding designation for certain anatomical terms and is often stymied by his father’s unpredictable movie tastes. And just for old times, one of the hosts falls asleep and snores during this episode. Continue reading
