Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 278: The 15:17 to Paris (2018) and Fifty Shades Freed (2018)

Episode 200

This week Jason saw The 15:17 to Paris (2018) because he’s a total sucker… But Ryan saw Fifty Shades Freed (2018) because he’s a total pervert. Those are our Feature Reviews in Episode 278 of Movie Podcast Weekly, the Clown Car of Movie Podcasting. So, sorry… we have two duds for you this week. Karl is sick this week, but you still have Jason, Andy and Ryan. Overall, it’s a decent episode of MPW, even with the four-minute story that Jason needed to cut and tack on to the end for our most intrepid listeners… In short, we also talk about a bunch of other smut. Join us!

If you’re new to our show… Movie Podcast Weekly typically features four hosts — Jason, Andy, Karl and Geek Cast Ry — along with frequent guests. New episodes release every single week! Continue reading

Special Features 014: CTS Podcast’s Very Best Films of the Aughts, 2000-2009 (Reissue)

Special Features - CTS Best Films of the Aughts

Brought to you by Movie Podcast Network and sponsored by Movie Podcast Weekly, we proudly present Special Features Episode 014, a reissue of the Considering the Sequels podcast’s “Very Best Films of the Aughts,” a bonus episode that celebrates the best cinema of the years 2000 through 2009.

We wanted those who have not yet subscribed to our Movie Podcast Network Special Features feed to have a little taste of the kind of off-beat but entertaining content you get through becoming a patron for the low, low price of just $2.50 per month.

Jason, Andy and Karl’s very first podcast was Considering the Sequels (or CTS Podcast), launched in June 2010. (Ryan wasn’t born yet.) Typically, we would review movie franchises and determine whether the primary film’s sequels were deemed as “cinematic dead-horse beating.” But we sometimes released special episodes, like The Very Best Films of the Aughts, which was recorded on November 28, 2010 — the day Leslie Nielsen died. Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 275: I, Tonya (2018) and Hostiles (2018) and Den of Thieves (2018) and 12 Strong (2018)

Episode 275 - Den of Thieves

For the first time in quite a long time, your hosts of Movie Podcast Weekly actually try to bring you earnest and semi-academic film reviews. Unfortunately, since MPW is usually more of a trainwreck smashing into a clown car, by comparison, Episode 275 will probably seem a little long-winded and boring… Sorry. But Jason says he found it to be very fulfilling movie podcasting. In this show, we bring you Feature Reviews of I, Tonya (2018) and Hostiles (2018) and Den of Thieves (2018) and 12 Strong (2018). We’re joined by special guest William Rowan Jr. of the brand-new Network show, Movie Moments Podcast and The Sci-Fi Podcast. We also bring you MPW’s thoughts on the infamous Golden Raspberry Awards (aka “the Razzies”). Join us!

By the way, check out Jason’s new short-form solocast for cinephiles called Considering the Cinema!
