Movie Podcast Weekly Ep. 035: The Iceman (2013) and The Hangover Part III (2013) and Fast and Furious 6 (2013)

ANTHONY BRUNO, author of “The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer,” joins us to discuss his book, as well as Ariel Vromen’s filmic adaptation — “The Iceman,” starring Michael Shannon, and he even gives us some anecdotal insights about The Iceman himself, Richard Kuklinski. Karl and Jason have a fascinating, 80-minute interview with Bruno that we think will also intrigue you listeners.

Also in this episode, we welcome JARED JOHNSON, host of The Reel Doctors, a new movie podcast where Jared and his co-host, Michael Alger, prescribe the movies you need to see. Jared, Karl, Josh and Jason discuss “The Hangover Part III,” “Fast & Furious 6,” the 30th anniversary of “Return of the Jedi,” and of course, Season 4 of “Arrested Development” on Netflix.

  1. Hi guys…this was my first ep. to listen, Christian León ‏@Chrisexcess…lead me to you and guys I loved your podcast, he specifically lead me to this ep. cause he knows I am a Fast and Furious fan…so he couldn’t wait my input on your review…but first…GREAT interview never heard of Anthony Bruno or the Iceman before, getting the book asap and watching the movie, you guys did a great job.

Now for the next, as for the Hangover I’ll have to say..if you are a fan like me Part III is a most if you aren’t well you could get few laughs…those movies are really not a work of art, just classic senseless tasteless fun..and for us girls Bradley Cooper for about 2 hours fix. BTW the guy that always misses the action is Doug (Justin Barta) the geek guy from National Treasure that follows Nick Cage around.

So for the delicate topic…just kidding…as a Fast and Furious fan I agree 5 and 1 are the best so far, all I can say is yes maybe…just maybe Vin Diesel plays the same character all the time…but he is Dominic Torreto, try picture anyone else being bad and cool and poker faced and sweet..while having his game on and doing crazy things for his girl…like every guy should..and yeah racing fast cars..cool American fast muscle cars…and I admit he plays Torreto even on The Pacifier.
Paul Walker hasn’t done much beyond this and being a 90’s heart throb on She’s all that or Skulls…he is and will always be Bryan O’connor he won’t do much else. We know it, he knows it…

Luda, yes he does kill it in this one, but because his character has the funny note on the movie come on…he and Tyrese are like the 2 black stooges trying to lighten the mood, of all the organized crime issues, failed and not so failed and tragic and for mins not so tragic love stories, the car chases, races and the such, the drive by, the fighting, the plane…I mean someone has to lighten the mood on this kinda situation, and every crew needs a geek Luda= the funny geek.

So I hope you don’t kill Chris for leading me to your podcast…and I promise to catch up to this weeks ep tomorrow…cause I have watched Man Of Steele…and I promise to give you my thoughts on your thoughts…

BTW the show is as long as it should be..don’t dare to change that…follow me on twitter ill follow back!!!

I salute you my fellow movie fans!
