The Fake IMAX Theaters of Movie Podcasting are back! Jason Pyles, Kombat Karl “The Mad Irishman” Huddleston, and a Guy Named “Andy” bring you Movie Podcast Weekly, Episode 401. Geek Cast Ryan Elliott sits this episode out, though he apparently loved our Feature Review movie. This time, we bring you an epic Feature Review of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (2026). Jason calls it “pure cinema” and a masterpiece, while Karl and Andy admire its extraordinary technical accomplishments but question its pacing, contemporary dialogue and nearly three-hour runtime.
Before journeying home with Odysseus, Jason and Karl investigate genuine IMAX versus the so-called “LieMAX” theaters that most audiences encounter. The boys also preview September’s movie releases, lament Mark Wahlberg’s distracting prosthetic nose, question Tom Cruise’s enthusiasm for Digger, calculate the increasingly ridiculous titles of future Godzilla Minus One sequels, and consider Hollywood’s recurring mission to get Matt Damon home.
Naturally, we also bring you Mini Reviews of What We’ve Been Watching Lately. Andy eventually arrives after joining what initially sounds like a cult—but turns out to be Pilates. Karl also celebrates the 40th anniversary of Manhunter and its forthcoming deluxe physical-media release. Join us!
