  1. @Que — For most of us (including Andy), it was from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday night. But for Willis, it was 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Andy falls asleep watching movies in the middle of the day.

    • Wow hat off for the effort guys, it couldn’t have been easy to commit every Sunday night for a year staying up until midnight. I suppose everyone on the show has a day job needing to get up on Monday morning right?

  2. I would back what Willis is saying about Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. The way Raimi handled the web-shooters doesn’t bother me and I never really thought Peter Parker looked particularly lanky (although maybe Spider-Man does), but for me it’s really all about the sarcastic and witty comments. I still think Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are two of the three best comic to movie adaptations though. I also thought the origin story was told in a different enough manner to allow for the reboot. As a comic fan I’m used to The Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man running concurrently with each other so two movie continuities close together doesn’t bother me. I will back Jason on Belle being far and away the most beautiful princess, however I must say that since Stitch is the most unique and cutest animal/alien in the Disney universe that I think he really just doesn’t like Polynesians. 🙂 I also can understand the love for Daphne, which I think I’ve heard him say before and I pointed out Teela was looking good too on Masters of the Universe. Back to Daphne though, I saw a horror film called Saturday Morning Massacre (or sometimes Mystery) that sort of spoofs Scooby-Doo. I’d love for someone to cover that. Spoiler alert: The Daphne character gets naked. Normally I’d agree that Loki is over saturated but the bottom line is that both Iron Man and Thor don’t have very many good enemies. So I can’t blame them for focusing on him again. Plus I really think Tom Hiddleston holds his own with some if the greatest comic movie villains of all-time. Nearly no character has a wealth of villains as great as Spider-Man unless you take the entire X-Men teams villains. Like I, Robot. Hate I Am Legend. I think his best portrayal was Ali, though it’s not the best film.

  3. Trailer and Previews for movies are the most unsettling thing about today’s cinema, rarely people realise that it is art, or need to be done right. especially more so these days. It is often that the trailer oversells a stinker – or undersell a delicate one…

This thing really could makes or breaks a movie and should be reviewed together with the movie! so we can promote good trailer techniques not just leaving the $100M budget movie to the school graduate to make $50 trailer for it.

  4. Karl – I’ve still never seen I-Robot – I did see the tunnel scene as a demo at your place but I’ve never seen the full movie. I have Hunger – (Steve McQueen) on Blu-Ray and have not seen it yet either – Waiting to be in the right mood for that one.

  5. Josh – Just wanted you to know that I’m with you on Survivor. I started watching it from the beginning, although I have missed a few seasons here and there. It is not your average reality show and is an interesting character study. Over the years many of the challenges have become pretty repetitive variations of similar things, but I guess that’s to be expected after so many seasons. I Would love to see Andy on Survivor:)

    • While I think Survivor certainly could be an interesting character study, I do have a problem understanding Josh’s railing against Big Brother and loving Survivor so much. I think this man has better to offer than Reality show reviews.

      • Honestly, Hammer, I haven’t given Big Brother a chance, but what I’ve seen doesn’t appeal to me. I’m sure it is easily as worthy a social experiment, but I don’t care for the way they cast. Personally, I got my fill of watching someone for 24 hours with We Live In Public and strangers living in a house with The Real World. Trading in a couch for a tropical beach is a no-brainer for me.

Survivor also has adventure and the human drama is much more rich because people are starving to death and freezing to death at night, soaked in rain, and putting themselves through the ringer physically in every imaginable way. If you don’t believe me, ask Big Brother winner Hayden who is on the current Season of Survivor and had a complete shock to the system because of how much more difficult it is.

      • I certainly respect your opinion but can’t wait till you’re through with the 27 seasons of Survivor. I’d rather hear about the newest Upstream Color. That said, it’s your segment and I’m happy to listen to whatever you have to say. As far as BB vs. Survivor, at least you recognize you haven’t given it a proper chance. If I was to recommend a season, it would actually be Hayden’s.

  6. They might not value my opinion once they knew how much reality TV I actually like. I have found myself binge watching seasons of Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, and Deadliest catch – even though its really the same thing over and over. I did watch the first season of Big Brother and did actually like it, but it did not keep me wanting to keep watching like Survivor. Fortunately I don’t have cable TV so I don’t get sucked it to most of the crap reality TV out there.

The way I see it reality TV gets dissed in much the same way that the Horror genre does. In both there are so many bad examples that the good ones often get dismissed along with the bad.

    • Exactly, Chad. You are my soul mate. I’m going to go ahead and say that anyone who outright dismisses DEADLIEST CATCH is a moron. That is one of the most amazing documentary series of all time, as far as I’m concerned. Repetitive, yes, but so is the job they are documenting. The new doc LEVIATHAN is so universally praised by critics and the industry (and I don’t want to take anything away from it), but DEADLIEST CATCH had basically shown us that world, in a pretty compelling way, for years.

PAWN STARS is utter crap, but once, rained into my hotel room during the Florida Film Festival, I watched about 20 hours of Pawn Stars. So, while I hate it, I totally get the fascination. It is the way they structure those damn commercial breaks, for one thing. I also stopped by the shop in Vegas the first chance I got for a chance to see Chumlee, but the cast were no-shows.
