  1. It’s strange to think that there’s a new Star Trek series out there that I will never see until (unless?) it is eventually released as a DVD boxed set and I can Redbox the discs, or borrow them from a friend. I’m a little surprised that I can still watch the old Trek shows on Netflix (my daughter and I are currently working on Season 1 of The Next Generation). If I ran CBS, I’d already have paid whatever Paramount is asking to get all of the old Trek stuff as the backbone for CBS All Access.

Karl, I haven’t listened to the episode yet. Did you knuckle under and pony up for CBS All Access, or are you, er, watching some other way?

    • Hi Cody,
Thanks for writing. You will probably be sad when you hear Karl’s review of “Star Trek: Discovery”… But I’m anxious to hear if you’re familiar with the commercial we talk about at the beginning of Karl’s “Kingsman 2” review… Thanks for writing!
      Your pal,
      J

      • Ha, ha. Karl’s voice sounds eerily familiar when he says, “Our Jill?”, so I’ve probably seen that LDS PSA before, but I don’t directly remember it. Funny that Andy has probably tried roughly 14,286 times to get Karl to speak in an Irish accent, without succeeding even once, but all you guys had to do was ask to get him to say a slightly goofy line from a PSA. Twice!

Sad to hear that the news Star Trek show is not up to snuff. Bryan Fuller, the showrunner on Star Trek: Discovery got some form of writing credit on 81 episodes of Star Trek: Voyage, so I think it’s fair to say that at least one key behind-the-scenes guy is familiar with the Trek universe.

  2. Wait wait wait. Jason Pyles. The guy who complains about having to spend so much time editing due to needing add in bleeps to cover swears that I’m sure he has frequent dreams involving having to deal with that editing, wanted to get The Iron Sheik on MPW?! Were you going through a strong self loathing period that you wanted to punish yourself with the most editing you’d ever have to do by having Sheik on?

  3. 54 minutes!? That’s not even half of one morning run, fellas. That won’t do at all; I need my MPW episodes to be two hours or longer. 🙁
