  1. Guys I still want to know if I can recommend a TV series for Andy’s segment.

If I can I’d like to recommend a British sitcom called “Peep Show”. Don’t worry Andy I’m not recommending you pornos again; the title sounds naughtier than it really is although the humour is often of a quite adult nature. It’s basically a modern spin on the “Odd Couple” paradigm, shot all in the POV of one of the two main characters. We also often hear their thoughts as narration.

It’s a great show and extremely funny if you don’t mind a few of the laughs coming from excruciatingly awkward and embarrassing character moments. The two main characters are Mark (David Mitchell) who’s an uptight, repressed, socially maladjusted office worker and Jeremy (Robert Webb) who’s selfish and hedonistic unemployed musician. The writing is excellent and incredibly witty and the comedic observations of the what it’s like to be a young man in modern day British society.

This is a show which I think is almost up there with the quality of original series of “The Office”, even though it’s a slightly different style of comedy. I think it’s something that Andy would really enjoy because he seems to have excellent taste in comedies. I’m also more of an “Arrested Development” type guy than a “Big Bang Theory” type guy.

Particularly conservative viewers be warned though, this is a Channel 4 show and we get away with a lot more risqué stuff here than you folks in the US.

    • David – that’s a great recommendation. The problem with TV series is the amount of time you have to dedicate to watching. I’ll put it on my list, but it’s probably going to be a while until I can binge watch a season. Let me know if you have a movie I can watch in the interim.

      • I’ve got one for you Andy, but please watch David’s ahead of mine since he posted way ahead of me. Anyway, my homework for you this time is Grizzly from 1976. Thank me later 🙂

  2. I kind of loved this episode.

To be honest, I never really had any interest in THE GUNMAN, but now I might check it out.

Also, if I’m being really honest, I’ve never seen RIO BRAVO, either. Maybe I should correct that error first.

    • But, if I’m really being really honest, all I can think about since seeing IT FOLLOWS last week is IT FOLLOWS. So, I’m really looking forward to this upcoming MPW episode… really.

      #really

    • Thanks, Dino. I’m glad you loved the episode. We’ve got one coming this week with just Karl and me. Yep, in Episode 131 (which I’ll try hard to get out on time for Tuesday), Karl reviews “The Gunman,” and I have a spoiler-free review of “It Follows.” And yes, Josh would insist that you see “Rio Bravo” as soon as possible.

Juan — Give us the scoop on “Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter.” What’s your rating?

      #AMostViolentYear #MPWep131

      • @Jay – Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on IT FOLLOWS. Spoiler-free is good because you don’t want to ruin anything for the slackers who haven’t seen it yet (#imlookingatyouJuan), but man, I’m yearning to discuss that movie more in-depth. I think I’ve already hit the discussion limit with my wife, whom I saw the movie with last week. I assume you and the guys will be reviewing it over on HMP at some point, too… will that also be this week?

As far as trying to get the release out on time for Tuesday, you and I seem to suffer the same affliction – perfectionism. I know, for me, it’s a quality that I both love and loathe. It’s a great source of pride when I complete something “the right way,” but the process by which to get there can be maddening. Someone once told me done is better than perfect, and those are words I try to live by when I find myself getting bogged down in a project.

Regardless, you know a few late releases won’t scare us off.
