There’s nothin’ you can do. It’s a total eclipse of the podcast… Interestingly,
Episode 254 of Movie Podcast Weekly was recorded on Monday, August 21, 2017, which was reportedly the first time the continental United States had this sort of perspective for this spectacle since 1918 — 99 years ago! So, we talk about that natural phenomenon a little bit. We also bring you Feature Reviews of Wind River (2017) and Logan Lucky (2017) and The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017) and Girls Trip (2017). Oh, and you should probably know that Andy was not with us for this episode, so join us!
NOTE: Episode 254 is an MPW “Lost Episode.” As noted above, this episode was recorded on August 21, 2017. It was supposed to release on August 23, 2017.

Thanks for listening, and join us again next week for Movie Podcast Weekly.
Listening to this vintage episode really made me miss MoviePass. All great things come to an end, but at least it was great while it lasted.
Also, the mention of Shot Caller reminded me of how much I enjoyed that film. Seemed to slip under the rader somewhat. However, I would like to recommend that for anyone who enjoys violent crime movies (especially you, Jason.) if you haven’t already seen it. Available free to stream on Prime.
Yes! “Shot Caller” is one of my favorite films of 2017. In fact, I was just mentioning in the comments recently how I learned about “Shot Caller” from listener B-Rye (and others) through their Top 10 list submissions. Love that film! Thanks!

My favorite part about this episode is when Jay playfully mocks Ryan for Ryan’s failure to get Comedy Movie Podcast off of the ground. Meanwhile, it took Jay around 15 months to get around to editing and posting this episode. haha
Ha ha ha ha Touché, Sal. You are correct.
But MPW exists (despite its terrible delays); whereas, we have yet to see an episode of Comedy Movie Podcast… And Ryan has a couple of those already recorded and in the can, too!

The best part about Jay’s admittedly sick burn is when Ryan fights fire with fire at the very end of the episode: “This week we’ll be doing our GenCon wrap-up. Well, you know what, this isn’t timely, I forgot. No point talking about what I’m going to do this week when this won’t be out for another month.” Oh, Ryan. How little you knew. That caustic little rejoinder rose in temperature from a toasty 75 F or so to a blazing 136 F by the time this episode got to us.
