  1. The trailer for “Send Help” is WILD. I didn’t even know that movie existed until listening to this episode. Now I’m highly intrigued. I don’t even have a joke about Jay perving on Rachel McAdams.

My wife got us tickets to a free screening of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” sponsored by Utah Valley University (she teaches writing classes there as part of the continuing education program). I’m not sure I’d have gone to see it if not for our free date night. (UVU even gave everyone free popcorn and sodas.) The first film in the series is great, the second one is pretty good, and this one reminded me a lot of the second one.

There are some characters that grow a little, and the mythology takes on a couple of new dimensions here and there. I heard a critic make the point that this is the first time James Cameron has ever made a third installment of anything, and I thought that was a telling comment. He seemed a little bit at a loss to do more than just replay the hits.

Speaking of “The Handmaid,” if you like watching Amanda Seyfried really go for it, then you should both check out “The Dropout” on Hulu, where she gives a deeply committed and riveting performance as real-life fraudster Elizabeth Holmes. Eight episodes, totally worth it.

  2. [humblebrag] P.S. I listened to Episodes 378, 379, and 380 all on this morning’s run through the foothills. No wild animals encountered. [/humblebrag]

  3. Hi Jason, Karl, Ryan and Andy,
My name is Paddy Glynn from Ireland (yes I know, Paddy from Ireland, I am a walking cliche). Also I have to give a special hello to my fellow Irishman Karl!
I just subscribed to the $2 a month sub ( which means this is pretty much gaurenteed to be read out on the show, right??) and wanted to let you know it will be the best money I have ever spent. I have listened to you guys for years and love everything about the show. I have watched countless movies based purely on your recommendations and am rarely, if ever, disappointed.
I watched lego movie with my kids because of Andy, Blade runner because of Karl, Haha you clowns because of Ryan and Sourcerer because of Jason but to name a few.
I honestly believe that much of the charm of the show for somebody like me is that most times I feel like I am just amongst my buddies in a smokey pub of a Sunday afternoon just taking the piss out of each other and talking about movies.
You guys coming back to a weekly show is what finally prompted me to sign up.for the sub that I should have years ago.
I look forward to many more episodes and thank you all for being the podcast highlight of my week every week!
I recommmed the show to friends/causal acquaintances/random people on the street all the time!
Love you guys and love the show!
    Regards
    Paddy Glynn
