The fact that you guys are quick to note that you don’t plan on following Jay’s strict formatting and that the quality won’t be as high, mainly to draw and suck Jay back into the podcast, is sorta brilliant. MPW is now able to have any sort of technical difficulty or fuck up and no one will be able to know if it’s accidental or on purpose.
*tips cap*
Sorta is not a word.
Your face isn’t a word.
This kind of bullying wouldn’t have happened under Jay’s watch 🙁
It’s a new era of MPW! There is no law and order! The inmates are now running the asylum!
Hell…. YES!!!
Regarding Abducted in Plain Sight, especially with the dad’s interviews, it feels like a mockumentary. The guy has a brilliant dumbfounded facial expression when it comes to being talked into doing any of the obviously inappropriate things that B talked him into doing. If this wasn’t a real story involving a child being abused, it’d be hilarious with how much B was able to get away with doing. There were points in the documentary where I wondered if B attempted some things just to see how far he could stretch things because this moronic family would fall for anything.
It becomes far less unintentionally funny in the second half though. There’s a pretty clear point midway into the doc where it seems like the story will be wrapped up now, but instead it continues. The parents may have looked bad enough in the first half, but in the second half, I’m at a loss for how they were able to keep custody of their children. For parents that weren’t directly abusive towards their children (Whether it’s verbal, sexual, emotionally, physically, ect), they come across as some of the worst parents ever. Perhaps it’s because I’m not a parent so I don’t understand how difficult it is to be a parent, but those two adults let down their children in some incredible ways.
Can’t say I miss the pedant. Good job guys.
dick.
Am not Chewie lol
Come back Jay. This is a mess.
Well, I didn’t hate it!! Aside from the annoying mic issues – especially yours Andy – you all did a great job! This episode was especially enlightening on the important topical issue of the Venom and Bundy lovers internet feud, which I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have heard about otherwise.
Guys; I appreciate your more moral, if less ethical efforts. Thanks!!
Andy’s connection issues had me wondering if this is why MPW was always so late. In reality, Jay always had to spend ages fixing Andy’s audio to prevent anyone from ever finding out that it was always bad.
My mind is blown.
I love this new format of MPW! It’s so chill and flows just like a natural conversation between friends. Great job guys, keep up the great work! Until Next Time!
GRC to Jason on Episode 317: “If you’re not on here to host the show, I’m not showing up.”
[Five episodes later]
Also GCR: “Welcome to the first episode of the new Movie Podcast Weekly without that one dumbass.”
Andy: Heh. Yeah, that loser shot our 9-year-old child in the face. That guy was a dumb — [Andy’s mike beeps, cuts out]
[30 seconds of dead air]
Andy: — which concludes my review of Tig Notaro’s new special.
William Rowan Jr.: [Inserts trailer with Jay’s old time machine noise bumpers]
Andy: [Andy’s mike beeps, cuts out]
GCR: MPW. It’s just as good as it’s always been.
Aw, poop. Well, I guess “GRC” might have been true to his word.
It was a noble first effort, fellas. 🙂 I’ll be here next time.
I couldn’t even begin to tell you gentlemen how immensely happy I was to see this show return even in Jay’s absence! Long live Andy!
You guys rock! Thanks for this!
