Episode 294 of Movie Podcast Weekly will pretty much knock your head off! In this show, we bring you three Feature Reviews of Ocean’s Eight (2018) and Hereditary (2018) and Thoroughbreds (2018). To help us in our quest, we welcome back William Rowan Jr., creator of “The Villa”, host of Movie Moments Podcast and a co-host on The Sci-Fi Podcast! Ryan will not be joining us for this episode, as he is serving as an airport valet. Jason also inserts an interesting little conversation that he had with cinephile Dave Becker about his DVD / Blu-ray sale! Oh, and be prepared: Andy spends a great deal of time engaging in inappropriate conversations and commentary about the untimely deaths of Paul Walker and Anton Yelchin… Despite that, join us!
If you’re new to our show… Movie Podcast Weekly typically features four hosts — Jason, Andy, Karl and Geek Cast Ry — along with frequent guests. We give you our verdicts on at least one new movie release from the current year that’s currently playing in theaters, as well as several mini reviews of whatever we’ve been watching lately. New episodes release every single week!

I guess the culmination of all of Andy’s Paul Walker/ Anton Yelchin jokes finally reared it’s ugly head. I must ask, however, is it more tragic that Paul Walker (supposedly) had a choice or that Anton was doomed by no choice of his own? Sorry, I do not mean to drag out Andy’s attempt at humor. I just found it interesting that this show touched on fate vs. choice in the same episode as Hereditary (as it is a major theme in the movie).
I too was deeply affected by the “accident” that Jason thankfully decided not to spoil, but upon reflection after the movie, found it much less tragic that it was not actually an accident. Instead, a premeditated correction that Peter had no control over.
Keep doing what y’all are doing. Really looking forward to the spoiler discussion on HMP
I have never watched any of the Fast and the Furious movies nor have I ever had the desire to do so, but I’d gladly see the next Fast sequel in the theater if William Rowan is cast in it. BUT, Solo’s character’s sole characteristic is that he’s there to take the piss out of everyone. This includes scenes where Solo is shown in the background rolling his eyes or laughing whenever the group tries to get serious and talks about their badass cars or how they’re family.
