Regarding the Oscars ballot competition.
I’m officially rooting for Andy.
Even though he’s got the whole underdog gimmick going, I can’t cheer on Jay. It seems he’s becoming a bit emotionally unhinged at losing so badly multiple years to Ryan. Give it a few years and Jay will continue to rig the contest with such over the top rules that Ryan will be DQ’d for not using a #2 pencil when filling out his ballots or claim Ryan missed the deadline for submissions because Jay quietly made them due by the Chamorro Time Zone or something equally bizarre. Jay, there’s nothing wrong with losing (Yet again).
I was on Ryan’s side during most of the debate since Jay was obviously trying to screw him over, but then he started to get pretty darn cocky. Ryan may be great at these contests, but it seems he needs a bit of humbling before he starts ordering everyone to refer to him as The All Knowing Ryan.
After Ryan, I would have backed Karl, but with his hatred of the Oscars, I fully expect for him to submit a Ron Swanson-like ballot exposing the pointlessness of the entire Academy.
Finally, the biggest appeal of Andy winning is that it’s Andy. Chances are he’s just going to fill it out 5 minutes before the Oscars, just randomly picking answers without even knowing which movies are which. An Andy win would frustrate Jay a ton, humble Ryan, and would humor Karl in backing up his claim that the Oscars is a farce if ANDY can win a prediction contest.
This whole post made me laugh until I pissed my pants. Well done.
It was my birthday today so it was great to have a new episode of MPW to listen to at work. Thanks for keeping me entertained every week.
