  1. Today I had the thought – is there something happened to “the producer”? Seriously. And why it says “posted on October 12, 2016” when we have here already October 25th??

    • Hey Michal – certainly legitimate questions. Jason has been slammed with work lately and we have talked about having Ryan help with editing duties since he has the equipment to do so. This is not the only podcast Jason edits/produces.
As for the date – I believe it is to show the week we recorded and obviously to have a show each week as much as possible.
Thanks for your support and obviously your patience!

      Karl

    • You’re totally right, Michal. I deserve that. I’m sorry, Brother. I’d bore you all with my many excuses, but I’ll just spare you and say things will be back on track (and I believe, even better with our release times) starting next week.

I’m sorry to the non-HMP listeners who patiently wait for MPW episodes during October. … These delays are that damn Jay of the Dead’s fault… Jay is such a jerk.
      ; )

Thanks for your comment, Michal. You’re the best.
      Sincerely,
      Jason

P.S. People have asked about the ridiculous back-dating before, so I can give you an explanation for that practice: I’m not trying to fool anybody by back-dating the posts… I simply want to keep straight (for me) what the release date *should have been* just for posterity’s and recording keeping sake. Sorry about that, too. Much love, y’all! : )

P.P.S. The October HMP content is weekly and pretty decent listening, even if you don’t consider yourself a Horror fan, per se…

  2. Wow. Three cheers for the “Planet Earth II” trailer! Solid recommendation from Karl. That’s quite possibly the most amazing imagery I’ve seen on film all year. I also enjoyed Jay’s live reaction, especially when he got to Karl’s “money shot” of the giraffe kicking the lion’s ass. I backed up the trailer and watched that clip about five times myself. I bet you could make an entire movie that was just scenes of predators getting unexpected ass-kickings from prey and people would watch the (shmeep!) out of it.

I don’t get it, Jay. Does Natalie even know that you operate an entire podcast devoted to mostly R-rated cinematic depictions of people being maimed or killed in creative ways? (I say that with love, brother. No judgment from me.) 🙂 How does “The Girl on the Train” get you busted, yet Horror Movie Podcast didn’t result in divorce proceedings years ago? (Have I asked this question before? I feel like I may have asked this question before. It’s hard to remember things when you get old.) I don’t recall whether you mentioned Allison Janney in your comments (the detective who investigates the, um, stuff that happens), but she’s probably the person from that cast I’d be most interested in seeing. Although Emily Blunt has become a reliable presence in recent years.

Jared Hess movies are almost always funnier upon further reflection, so I’m not necessarily put off by Karl’s assessment of “Masterminds.” It might seem better after the entire experience has marinated a bit. On the other hand, if they really had “fully expunged” Zach Galifianakis’ talent, then I think Karl would have been less satisfied, not more:

ex·punge (ikˈspənj/) verb: expunge; 3rd person present: expunges; past tense: expunged; past participle: expunged; gerund or present participle: expunging
To erase or remove completely (something unwanted or unpleasant). “I’ve kind of expunged that period from my CV.” synonyms: erase, remove, delete, rub out, wipe out, efface 🙂

    • Cody,
Yes, she’s even less pleased about my love for Horror movies, but since she hasn’t really watched many Horror movies, she either doesn’t know or doesn’t want to know. She’s very smart, so it’s probably the latter.

It’s all your fault, Cody. You helped make me what I am back in 2006, when you said I was “born to write a movie blog…” This is all your doing, Sir… ; )

  3. Hi Jason,
I just wanted to let you know how much I love the show. I totally get how much work in involved in getting these things edited, especially considering your profane co-hosts requiring many bleeps to keep this podcast family friendly. My issue is that, with your heart condition, I always fear that you’ve had a coronary and that’s why the show is delayed. Whenever a new show appears in my iTunes I’m relieved that Jason has survived to produce another episode. By the way, I would love it if you made the considering the sequels podcasts available. They seem like a fun listen. Thanks for all that you guys do! -Ezra

    • Thanks for your comment, Ezra. : )

You don’t know how right you are about the heart stuff… But I’m hoping to get all that “fixed” and squared away within the next year. Just lining everything up and looking for a competent surgeon.

And yes, I will get all the CTS Podcast episodes back up again very soon. I’d like to have them available again by the end of the year.

      Thanks!
      J

    • Me too! A delay, and I’m thinking; “how can we just find out if Jay’s dead or not!!!”

Always hoping for the best, of course.

  4. Holy Spicoli!! You cant turn sround these days without bumpin into someone trumpeting on high how amaze-balls Moonlight is.

Anyone have it in their area and are planning to see it? It’ll be interesting to hear some opinions on it from people who arent critics.

  5. Hey Jay, you metioned that the swmmer/actor held his breath for 41/2 minutes, in the creature from the black lagoon well you should catch up with the latest graham Norton show here in the UK, Tom cruise is on talking about the new jack reacher film and he stats that for the role he was trained by divers to hold his breath for SIX 1/2 minutes , check it out bruv

  6. Kris was extremely impressive in this episode. Best guest ever on the show. We should do a full hour MPN special with her and ask her all of the really pressing questions. You’ve chosen wisely, Dark Mark.

  7. Jason,
What love you gave to the Creature from the Black Lagoon for MPW fans. It’s a classic film for all ages. Just the right amount of creep and thrills for the kiddies.

Overall, I enjoyed the entire episode.
    Hi Karl!
    Westworld… yes!

Thanks for sharing Jason with HMP. October was an impressive month.
