This episode is dedicated to Lance Smith and Shane Wheeler. Sorry we couldn’t give you a better one, but you know … circus animals. Welcome to MOVIE PODCAST WEEKLY, Episode 374. On our now weekly again, explicit movie-related podcast, your hosts Jason, Karl, Ryan — but not a guy named Andy — bring you Feature Reviews of del Toro’s Frankenstein (2025), Predator: Badlands (2025), and Nuremberg (2025). OK? Yeah, Andy could not make it to this week’s recording, either. He just doesn’t love you anymore (which is probably why he returns next week). Join us!
This episode was recorded on November 11, 2025, Veterans Day. Much love and honor to our veterans. Thank you.

I often run while listening to podcasts, sometimes before sunrise. I can see fairly well until I start to get up into the foothills, and then I use a headlamp for an hour or so until it starts to get a little brighter. A month or so ago, I was up in the hills before sunrise and I saw, or thought I saw, a bright light upslope from me. Like the light from someone else with a headlamp. The light was bobbing, coming toward me. Then it winked out, like the other guy didn’t want to be seen, or something. I kept running, but never saw anyone (or anything) else that could (or would) have been throwing out that much light.
So a couple of days ago, I’m out running again, listening to this episode. Everyone is talking about the PREDATOR movies. I get to where I need a little more light to see the trail, so I turn on my headlamp. Then I start remembering the never-explained phantom light. And then I look downslope and see two pairs of gleaming animal eyes looking back up at me from the tall grass. Low to the ground, seemingly about the right size for coyotes, or bobcats, or maybe small mountain lions. The animals didn’t move, and I kept going uphill. By the time the trail switched back, I couldn’t see the animal eyes anymore. So I just kept going, up into the hills.
Anyway, that’s my real-life predator story.
I woke up and by curiosity just search the podcast and I was very surprised to find theres a new episode every week again . It will be a pleasure to listen you guys, and I agree about Frankenstein; it’s a great movie and should be seen in theaters.
Now Im gonna listen the last episodes , hope you can watch train dreams on Netflix also.
