Jason’s point about how the more you learn about monsters, the less fearsome they become reminded me of The Fourth Kind with Milla Jovovich. It certainly isn’t in discussion as a great movie but, for me, it was the most effect horror movie precisely because, throughout the film, we never see the aliens. We only ever see the effects on the human characters and your imagination fills in the blanks. Similar to Warfare, 2009’s The Messenger is a film that depicts the effects of war on people and their families. I would love it if one of you guys watched and reviewed it!
Happy Birthday to Jason! And thank you, sir, for giving *me* a Jason’s Birthday present with your Andor vs. and/or coordinating conjunction joke. And even a wheat germ joke! It’s an embarrassment of riches.
Nice to have Spawn of the Dead make an appearance. A chip off of the old podcasting block! I love the moment when Jay makes the umpteenth dig in the history of MPW about Karl choosing Transformers as his BMoTY of 2007 and Spawn just starts giggling. You raised him right, Jay.
I agree with Jay and Karl. The summer movie I’ve enjoyed the most (so far) is Final Reckoning.
I’m wounded. Mac gets invited to Karl’s housewarming party, but I get the middle finger. And after all the good times we’ve shared, too. I think Karl is still mad about that time that he loaned me his DVD of Fletch Lives! and I didn’t return it until something like four years later.
