  1. Just when I think they’re never coming back, I get another momentous manifesto from my favorite film philosophers, the merry cranks at Movie Podcast Old Guy Diatribes. I greatly enjoyed Episode 360: Why the Hell Didn’t This Movie Have Subtitles, Bee Like Jason Statham, and Dammit I Went to the Movies Again and We Still Didn’t Get an Effing Intermission. Thanks to Andy for recommending some valuable reading material, although he overlooked my own favorite article on the subject, “Should Long-Ass Movies Have Pee Breaks? It Depends.” It was kind of amazing to hear Karl endorse Jay’s rave review of the DUNE duology, given that those movies were directed by Karl’s Least Favorite Filmmaker, Denis “Natural Lighting” Villeneuve. Speaking of things that people should have watched sooner, just last week I finally binged SEVERANCE on Karl’s beloved Apple TV+. My favorite thing about this gripping and visionary puzzle box drama is that it came out in early 2022, so when I got to the cliffhanger conclusion of Season 1, I could immediately watch the next … wait, what the hell?! Jay, you and Andy and GCR should take Karl up on his recommendation of SLOW HORSES. It also debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022, but because it was made by the Brits, there have already been two follow-up series (as they say in Blighty) and a fourth is in the works. Meanwhile, here in America, Adam Scott is 51, John Turturro just got a gold watch from the Coen Brothers, and Christopher Walken will almost certainly be dead before anyone so much as prints a call sheet for the table read of SEVERANCE, Season 2, Episode 1. Join us next year on Movie Podcast Get Off My Lawn when Ben Stiller STILL won’t have gotten around to muttering, “Cliffhanger? There was NOTHING WRONG with the ending of SEVERANCE. I answered everything. Leave me alone, whiners!”
