ANDY: It’s a kid who rebels against his parents, and parents coming to the realization that their child is right, and the kid coming to grips that it’s OK that his parents suck.
Sounds like Andy is on about The LEGO Movie again. 🙂
I get that the broad strokes of Coco are plenty familiar. Fittingly, however, given the movie, I think most of us could probably agree that it’s the singer, not necessarily the song, that’s extraordinary. So many stories that have this basic framework, including some good ones, don’t even approach the sincerity, warmth, and tender emotion of Coco. Such a beautiful movie, with such amazing depth of feeling. It bowled me over on first viewing, and I thought it was even more touching and moving the second time around. Easily my favorite film of 2018. I’m with Karl and Ryan on this one.
I might be biased on this one, but I have to agree with Karl, Ryan, and Cody on Coco. It’s so weird that Andy is being so dismissive of it. He’s usually the one defending animated films.
But the movie ‘ book of life” is a far better film than Coco.
I haven’t seen Book of Life, but the art direction looks terrible. I’m still very curious to compare the two, especially since Del Toro produced Book of Life.

But can I buy your Magic Bus? (too much, Magic Bus)”
Came for movie reviews, stayed for one of my favorite songs. Give your virus-riddled computer my regards, Jay 🙂
